Greig Perantinos
I am a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and I have been helping people for over 20 years. I have worked in various settings such as mental health and general hospitals, elementary schools, violence against women organizations, settlement and child protection agencies. I have extensive experience working with adults around topics such as intimate partner violence, relationship challenges, settlement, grief, trauma, loss and PTSD, anxiety, depression, identity issues, perinatal health & wellbeing, and parenting issues. I offer a client-centered and integrative approach to my work , drawing on various modalities to meet the needs of my clients.
My name is Greig Perantinos and I’m a social worker at the Toronto Centre for Emotional Health.
I have a strong interest in mindfulness and applying neuroscience-based techniques to improve mental health, aiming to help individuals achieve a greater sense of calmness in both body and nervous system. When working with clients, my approach is relaxed, centered on their needs, and collaborative.
Before entering social work, I gained experience in the corporate sector and later founded a successful business as an entrepreneur. These experiences allow me to empathize with the stressors and obstacles often encountered with high-stress careers.
Education and Training
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Toronto and an Honours in Business Administration (HBA) from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. I am a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Theoretical Approach
My therapeutic style integrates talk therapy with mindfulness practices. I am trained in sensorimotor therapy, parent-child family therapy, CBIT, solution focused, and mindfulness. I have experience working with children, adults, and families coping with a range of mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, tics, Tourette syndrome and ADHD.
Personal Background
In my free time, you can find me cycling and paddle boarding, hiking and generally enjoying the outdoors. I also practice mindfulness and yoga as a way of staying grounded and present in my daily life.
I hope to have a chance to work together on your goals and dreams.
