Ranim Kattan

I am a Registered Psychotherapist who offers empathic, personalized, and client-focused care. I work from a holistic framework that integrates all aspects of your life, and I prioritize anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practices. As a Lebanese immigrant, I also recognize the significance of cultural nuance and values, and utilize an intersectional lens in my approach.

I support clients with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, complex trauma and PTSD, and relationship issues. Whether you are in crisis, struggling with ongoing challenges, or find yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, this is a space to explore your inner world and build your resilience.

Education and Training

I completed my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, and have also earned a post-graduate certificate in addiction and mental health from Humber College. I also have additional training in emotionally-focused individual therapy (EFIT).

Theoretical Approach

My approach in therapy not only addresses presenting concerns, but also facilitates a deeper exploration of the core underlying issues that often drive many of the challenges that clients face. I use an integrative framework that draws on a number of evidence-based modalities, such as emotionally-focused therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions, in order to tailor the counselling process to each client’s needs.

I am a firm believer that with the right tools, we all have the inner wisdom to navigate life's challenges and overcome obstacles. Regardless of what struggle is showing up in your life, you can count on finding a safe, non-judgemental and validating space with me where we can work together to meet your needs.
